Baseball Recap: Mathis Comes Up Short

Mathis and Bishop squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Mathis had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Badgers by a score of 2-0. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Badgers recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Mathis' loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Bishop, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-13-1 record this season.

Mathis does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bishop, they will square off against Falfurrias on Saturday. The Badgers will need to watch out since the Bulls have now posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
