Baseball Recap: Sunny Hills Comes Up Short

Sunny Hills fell victim to Costa Mesa and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Costa Mesa Mustangs. The Lancers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2020.

Sunny Hills got a good showing from Zayyir Miramontes, who tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

This is the second loss in a row for Sunny Hills and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Costa Mesa, their win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0.

Sunny Hills wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 6-1 loss against Woodbridge on the 25th. As for Costa Mesa, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-1 defeat against Capistrano Valley on the 24th.
