Soccer Game Preview: Olympia vs. Bloomington

The Olympia Spartans will take on the Bloomington Purple Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Olympia has three straight victories, Bloomington has eight straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Bloomington better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if Olympia's game on Thursday is any indication, that's when Olympia really gets things going. The Spartans never let St. Thomas More get on the board and left with a 3-0 win.

Olympia hit the Sabers with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Ella Evans, Madi Barnes, and Elyse Eimer.

Meanwhile, Bloomington fell victim to Champaign Central and their airtight defense on Thursday. They lost 9-0 to the Maroons. While losing is never fun, Bloomington can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 358th, while Champaign Central are ranked 114th).

Olympia now has a winning record of 10-9-2. As for Bloomington, their loss dropped their record down to 2-15.
