Softball Game Preview: Fairfield Eagles vs. Grandview Zebras

For the second straight game, Fairfield will face off against Grandview. The Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Zebras at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Fairfield 2.9, Grandview 1.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Fairfield heads in on the heels of a playoff game on Friday. They came up short against Grandview, falling 12-0. The Eagles were red-hot at the plate heading into the match (they scored no less than ten runs in the three contests prior), but the Zebras' pitchers proved too tough.

The victory was the 15th in a row for Grandview, bringing their record up to 27-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Fairfield, they moved to 14-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.
