Basketball Game Preview: Cairo Syrupmakers vs. Bainbridge Bearcats

Cairo is 2-8 against Bainbridge since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Cairo Syrupmakers are taking a road trip to take on the Bainbridge Bearcats at 6:00 p.m.

Cairo is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 18th straight game dating back to last season last Saturday. They fell 42-30 to Brooks County. The match was a 10-10 toss-up at halftime, but the Syrupmakers couldn't quite close it out.

While Bainbridge didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat Miller County 54-27. The Bearcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 20 points or more this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Bainbridge and bumps their season record up to 6-4. As for Cairo, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Cairo took a serious blow against Bainbridge when the teams last played back in February, falling 65-21. Can Cairo avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
