Soccer Game Preview: Mauldin vs. Christ Church Episcopal

The Mauldin Mavericks will head out to square off against the Christ Church Episcopal Cavaliers at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Mauldin will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Mauldin is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Carolina's top teams: Greenville, who was ranked 24th at the time (Mauldin was ranked 18th). Mauldin skirted past Greenville 2-1. Two seems to be a good number for Mauldin as the team scooped up a win with the same number of goals in their previous game.

Meanwhile, Christ Church Episcopal hasn't lost a match since February 27th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Thursday. They put the hurt on Carolina Academy with a sharp 11-0 victory. Christ Church Episcopal might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by three goals or more this season.

Christ Church Episcopal pushed their record up to 7-1-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those four contests. As for Mauldin, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
