Baseball Game Preview: Lincoln Railsplitters vs. Wagner Falcons

The Lincoln Railsplitters will head out to take on the Wagner Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Lincoln has six straight wins, Wagner has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Last Thursday, Lincoln sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over Curtis. That's two games straight that the Railsplitters have won by just one run.

Meanwhile, Wagner lost 13-2 to Brooklyn Technical on Friday.

Lincoln's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Wagner, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Lincoln came out on top in a nail-biter against Wagner in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Railsplitters since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
