Softball Recap: Scottsdale Christian Academy Eagles vs. Tempe Prep Knights
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Chandler Prep, Scottsdale Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Tempe Prep Knights as they made off with a 22-0 victory. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Madeleine (Maddie) Ketchum made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Campbell Reader was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.
