Volleyball Recap: Yelm Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Yelm came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Bonney Lake Panthers, falling 3-0. The Tornados were not able to make up for their loss to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

While Yelm was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Bonney Lake's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-19, 25-20.

Lilly Grant paced Yelm's offense, picking up nine kills. Grant got some help from Rylee Hominda and her 14 assists. Finally, Grant was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Yelm has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12-1 record this season. As for Bonney Lake, their win ended a four-match drought at home and bumped them up to 5-7.

Yelm has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Curtis on the 28th. As for Bonney Lake, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Puyallup on the 28th.
