Baseball Recap: Kingman Victorious

Kingman proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by 32) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Phoenix Christian Cougars 11-10. While the Bulldogs didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Albert Lopez was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and seven RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI. Cash Collins was another key player, going 4-for-5 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.

Kingman was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .486. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .316 or higher in four consecutive matches.

Kingman's record now sits at 7-1. As for Phoenix Christian, they moved to 7-1 with that defeat, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Kingman will face off against ALA - West Foothills at 3:45 p.m. on March 18th. As for Phoenix Christian, they will square off against Desert Christian at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Phoenix Christian's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so Desert Christian's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
