MaxPreps 2016 regional high school football computer rankings

The final MaxPreps regional football computer rankings had just one change from last week with a new No. 1 team in the Southwest.

Lake Travis took over as the No. 1 team in the Southwest, replacing DeSoto as the top team.

The rest of the No. 1 rankings did not change with St. Joseph's Prep No. 1 in the northeast, IMG Academy No. 1 in the south, Bishop Gorman No. 1 in the west and Cass Tech No. 1 in the midwest.

The regional rankings are based on the MaxPreps National Football Computer Rankings, presented by the Army National Guard. For the purposes of these rankings, the country is broken down into five regions:



West: California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Hawaii, Alaska and Montana.

Southwest: Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma,and Texas.

Midwest: North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota.

South: Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C.

Northeast: Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Delaware and Vermont.
