Overton and McGavock are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2019, but likely not for long. The Bobcats will face off against the Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
McGavock will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Overton extended their winning streak to seven on Thursday. The Bobcats put the hurt on Antioch with a sharp 20-1 victory. That 19 run margin sets a new team best for the Bobcats this season.
Kaliyha Finley-Gray made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Overton hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in 11 consecutive matchups.

Like Overton, McGavock also got a great game from a two-way player: Amanda Toth. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Toth was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Makenzie Kilby, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Jasmine Dahl, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
Overton pushed their record up to 10-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for McGavock, their record is now 9-5.
Overton took their win against McGavock when the teams last played last Monday by a conclusive 16-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bobcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
