Basketball Game Preview: Meadowcreek Mustangs vs. Peachtree Ridge Lions

Meadowcreek hasn't had much luck against Peachtree Ridge recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Meadowcreek Mustangs will take on the Peachtree Ridge Lions at 4:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Peachtree Ridge will be up against a hot Meadowcreek squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Meadowcreek came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 60-54 W against Parkview. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Panthers are ranked 331st), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Peachtree Ridge had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They managed a 68-63 win over the Broncos.

Meadowcreek's victory bumped their record up to 19-7. As for Peachtree Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 16-10.

Meadowcreek barely slipped by Peachtree Ridge when the teams last played two weeks ago, winning 48-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Meadowcreek since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
