Baseball Game Preview: Alpine Bucks vs. Anthony Wildcats

The Alpine Bucks will face off against the Anthony Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Alpine's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Anthony's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Alpine is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Kermit just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Yellow Jackets by a score of 6-5.

Meanwhile, Anthony waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Blue Devils.

Lorenzo Orozco was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. Orozco was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jared Ortiz, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Josue Moncayo, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Anthony always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Alpine's loss dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Anthony, their victory bumped their record up to 9-12-1.

Alpine came out on top in a nail-biter against Anthony in their previous matchup on April 8th, sneaking past 5-4. Will the Bucks repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
