After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Wheeler, Whiting was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Griffith Panthers with a sharp 3-0 victory. The Oilers haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Whiting's got stronger as the match went on, holding Griffith to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-19, 25-15.

Whiting's offense was headlined by Lyzett Lozano and Liliana Lozano, who picked up eight kills apiece. They got some help from Andrea Cabrales and her eight assists. Liliana was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.
