Volleyball Recap: Doral Academy Red Rock Comes Up Short at Home Against Mojave

Doral Academy Red Rock unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mojave Rattlers on Thursday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.

The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-14, 20-25, 25-19.

Doral Academy Red Rock's offense was headlined by Chase Colburn and Declan Christiansen, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Jacob Doyle and his 22 assists. Colburn was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Mojave pushed their record up to 4-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Doral Academy Red Rock will venture away from home to challenge Legacy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mojave, they will host Bonanza at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The contest will give Bonanza their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
