Volleyball Recap: Hillsboro Christian Academy Falls Despite Big Games from Zayla Bourne and Emma Barnett

Hillsboro Christian Academy was the 2-0 winner over Fayette Christian when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Crusaders fell just short of Fayette Christian by a score of 3-2 on Friday.

Hillsboro Christian Academy took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 23-25, 18-25, 25-23, 15-9.

Hillsboro Christian Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Emma Barnett, who had 15 digs and one assist, and Zayla Bourne, who had five digs and three aces. That assist was Barnett's first of the season.

Hillsboro Christian Academy now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Fayette Christian, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Hillsboro Christian Academy will take on St. Patrick at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
