Basketball Recap: Fayetteville Lions vs. Richards Panthers
The Fayetteville Lions entered their tilt with the Richards Panthers with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Fayetteville took down the Panthers 49-33 on Friday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Fayetteville also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Fayetteville was led to victory by Devynn Moeckel and Kayme Schley. Moeckel dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds, while Schley scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Schley is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 16 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylie Dyer, who scored seven points along with five assists and four steals.
Fayetteville is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-16 record this season. As for Richards, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10.
Fayetteville will head out on the road to challenge the Cubs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Round Top-Carmine is on a four-game streak of home wins, the Lions a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Richards will take on the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
