Baseball Recap: Rolling Hills Prep Comes Up Short

After flying high against Big Bear on Saturday, Rolling Hills Prep came back down to earth. The Huskies came up short against the New Roads Jaguars on Tuesday, falling 13-2. The Huskies have struggled against the Jaguars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Samuel Lopez was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two doubles.

Rolling Hills Prep's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-9. As for New Roads, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-8 record this season.

New Roads will venture away from home to challenge Vistamar at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Rolling Hills Prep will be paying especially close attention to the Jaguars' contest: after the Jaguars face off against the Vikings, they'll take on Rolling Hills Prep again at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
