Recap: Strong Rock Christian Patriots vs. Brookstone Cougars

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Strong Rock Christian Patriots had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top against the Cougars by a score of 57-46. The victory was just what Strong Rock Christian needed coming off of a 62-38 loss in their prior match.

Leading Strong Rock Christian to victory were Brooks Bibby and Zack Phillips. Bibby scored 19 points, while Phillips scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bibby has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Blake Burghardt, who scored six points.

Despite the loss, Brookstone had strong showings from Rhett Lane, who scored 17 points, and Fuller Jones, who scored eight points along with five rebounds. It was the first time this season that Lane scored 15 or more points.

Strong Rock Christian's win bumped their record up to 21-7. As for Brookstone, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-12.

Strong Rock Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Brookstone is on the road again on Wednesday and plays Bulloch Academy at 6:00 p.m. on February 21st. Hopefully Brookstone focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
