Baseball Recap: Five Straight Road Victories for Kewaskum

Waupun typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Kewaskum proved too difficult a challenge. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over the Warriors. Nine seems to be a good number for the Indians as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Kingston Grisolono was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Grisolono was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Everett Donath, who went 4-for-5 with two runs and one RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Andrew Reichert, who went 3-for-5 with one run and one double.

Kewaskum kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Kewaskum pushed their record up to 12-4-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Waupun, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-3.

Coming up, Kewaskum will head out to square off against Ripon at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
