Basketball Preview: O'Fallon Panthers vs. Collinsville Kahoks
O'Fallon is 10-0 against the Kahoks since December of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The O'Fallon Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Collinsville Kahoks at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in O'Fallon's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three contests.
Last Friday, O'Fallon faced the Railsplitters in a battle between two of the state's top teams. O'Fallon fell 62-55 to the Railsplitters. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Carolyn Foster, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Haeli Tart, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Collinsville was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 51-45 to the Panthers.
O'Fallon's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 22-7. As for Collinsville, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-15 record this season.
Everything came up roses for O'Fallon against the Kahoks when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 63-27 win. With O'Fallon ahead 39-18 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
