Softball Recap: Portola Comes Up Short

Portola came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 9-1 to the Quincy Trojans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 34-15 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Portola saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Clara Klemesrud, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Portola's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7-1. As for Quincy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Portola is taking a road trip to square off against Plumas Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Quincy will be paying especially close attention to the Tigers' contest: after the Tigers face off against the Warriors, they'll take on Quincy again at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
