Basketball Recap: Sierra Lutheran Comes Up Short

Sierra Lutheran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a hard 26-12 fall against the Smith Valley Bulldogs. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

When it comes to explaining why Sierra Lutheran lost, don't look at Tristin Langemeier. Despite the final result, she posted five points along with eight rebounds and six steals. That's the most steals Langemeier has posted since back in December of 2023.

Sierra Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Smith Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Sierra Lutheran will take on Pershing County in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Smith Valley, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Mineral County at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
