Preview: Kermit Yellow Jackets vs. Stanton Buffaloes
The Kermit Yellow Jackets are on the road again on Tuesday and play against the Stanton Buffaloes at 8:00 p.m. on December 19th. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Kermit scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They breezed by New Way Christian Academy on the road to the tune of 77-23. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-8.
Kermit's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bryson Bennett led the charge by scoring 15 points along with six rebounds. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for him. Julian Saenz was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Stanton didn't have too much trouble with Sonora at home on Friday as they won 61-47.
Kermit has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Stanton, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10.
Kermit lost to Stanton on the road by a decisive 39-22 margin in their previous meeting back in January. Can Kermit avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
