Baseball Game Preview: Poca Dots vs. Hannan Wildcats

The Poca Dots will square off against the Hannan Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Poca is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Saturday just wasn't the day for Poca's offense. They came up short against South Charleston on Saturday, falling 10-0.

Meanwhile, Hannan fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Elk Valley Christian on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 8-7.

Hayden Taylor was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Jackson Stickler was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with four stolen bases and one run.

Hannan dropped their record down to 1-9 with the loss, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Poca, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-13.

Poca took their victory against Hannan when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 13-3 score. Will the Dots repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
