Softball Recap: Constantine Comes Up Short

Constantine lost against Buchanan on Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Falcons fell just short of the Bucks by a score of 9-8. That's two games in a row now that the Falcons have lost by just one run.

Jozee Buglione and Olivia Ransbottom stepped up to the plate in a big way. Buglione went 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Ransbottom got on base in all five of her plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Buglione has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last four times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Herlein, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.

Constantine has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-9 record this season. As for Buchanan, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-6.

Constantine and Buchanan should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. The Falcons will face off against Centreville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (117 vs. 275). Meanwhile, Buchanan (ranked 124th) will meet Eau Claire (ranked 523rd) at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
