Soccer Game Preview: Union Grove Christian vs. Southside Christian

The Union Grove Christian Patriots will face off against the Southside Christian Warriors on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Union Grove Christian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over Wilson Christian Academy. The win was familiar territory for Union Grove Christian, who have now won seven games in a row.

They hit Wilson Christian Academy with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Sara Long (2), Olivia Burnette, and Hayden Bennett.

Meanwhile, Southside Christian waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They never let the Titans get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. Given Southside Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 65th, while Triad Baptist Christian Academy are ranked 327th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Southside Christian pushed their record up to 10-2-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 24 goals over those three matches. As for Union Grove Christian, their win bumped their record up to 15-3.
