Basketball Preview: McLaurin Tigers vs. Enterprise Bulldogs
The McLaurin Tigers will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Enterprise Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, McLaurin came up short against the Tigers and fell 47-36.
Meanwhile, Enterprise's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight defeat. They took a serious blow against Southeast Lauderdale, falling 58-26. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Enterprise has scored all season.
Makayla Sullivan put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played.
McLaurin's loss was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-21. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.2 points per game. As for Enterprise, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-14 record this season.
McLaurin lost to the Bulldogs on the road by a decisive 50-32 margin when the teams last played last Friday. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Sullivan, who scored 22 points along with four steals. Now that McLaurin knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
