Recap: Hilliard Red Flashes vs. Yulee Hornets

The Hilliard Red Flashes scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Yulee 81-50 on the road. Hilliard has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hilliard to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brandyn Seldomridge, who scored 28 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Seldomridge has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kevin Thomas, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Yulee lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ace Walker. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points along with two steals. Walker has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Jayden Spencer was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.

The win (which was Hilliard's eighth in a row) raised their record to 15-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for Yulee, they bumped their record down to 8-10 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Hilliard will take on Fort White at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Florida (Fort White is ranked 125th, while Hilliard is ranked 142nd). Yulee won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Fernandina Beach at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th.
