Basketball Recap: Chris Stewart's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Andrews over Academic Magnet

Andrews was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 40-34 heartbreaker at the hands of the Academic Magnet Raptors.

Andrews' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chris Stewart, who posted 12 points and eight boards. That was a full 35.3% of Andrews' points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayden Dorsey, who put up four points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Andrews smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 11 consecutive games.

Andrews' defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Academic Magnet, their victory ended a 14-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-16.
