Baseball Recap: Morton Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

Morton had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Canton on Thursday. The Potters put the hurt on the Little Giants with a sharp 10-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Potters in their matchups with the Little Giants: they've now won four in a row.

Morton got a great performance from Alex Mckie as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over six innings pitched. Mckie has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Andrew Brooks was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Cade Darche also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Morton pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Canton, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.
