Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask St. Vincent de Paul Academy). They pulled ahead with a 60-59 photo finish over Training Center Christian on Thursday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Hawks considering their 25-point performance the game before.

George Spencer had an outrageously good game as he went 13 for 21 en route to 28 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in points. Leo Hodal was another key player, putting up ten points.

When it comes to explaining why Training Center Christian lost, don't look at Creed Lopez. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 26 points and ten boards. That was a full 44.1% of Training Center Christian's points, marking the tenth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Bryan, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 14 points and six rebounds.

St. Vincent de Paul Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Training Center Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-7.

St. Vincent de Paul Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Independence Home School at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Independence Home School is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.2 points per game this season. Training Center Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
