Softball Recap: Viera Has No Trouble Against Heritage

Viera got themselves on the board against Heritage on Thursday, but Heritage never followed suit. They blew past the Heritage Panthers 20-0. The Hawks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.

Viera let Madison Rider and Rylan Cozzie Cozzolino run wild. Rider went 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Cozzolino scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Tori Berry, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Viera was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .520. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

The win made it two in a row for Viera and bumps their season record up to 2-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 18 runs. As for Heritage, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Viera will welcome Rockledge at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Heritage, they will take on Palm Bay at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
