It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Catholic had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They never let the John Curtis Christian Patriots get on the board and left with a 4-0 win. Winning may never get old, but the Bears sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
The result came thanks to Lucas Lawrence's shutout, as he gave up just four hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Noah Lewis, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Edward Henriquez, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Catholic hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in nine consecutive contests.
Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 32-5. As for John Curtis Christian, they moved to 28-13 with that defeat, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.
