Eastern Coteau (9 Man) recap Sept. 26, 2012
Clark/Willow Lake extended the longest winning streak in Eastern Coteau (9 Man) this week by beating Tri-State co-op [Rosholt/Fairmount/Campbell-Tintah], 21-6. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Cyclones.
Waverly/South Shore and Wilmot played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Waverly/South Shore eventually emerging with a 36-32 victory.
The Wolves' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Austin Hulscher threw for 183 and one touchdown and Landon Hammer had 118 yards receiving. On the ground Chase Bronson chipped in 170 yards. Trevor Reil helped Wilmot's passing attack out by catching three balls for 51 yards.
Brody Grantham made the biggest impact on defense this week as Hamlin beat Waubay/Summit. The 6-foot-1 sophomore pulled down one interception and recorded one fumble.
Wilmot's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Wolves feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Hulscher has thrown for 1030 yards and 13 touchdowns this season, while Hammer has 28 catches for 638 yards. Bronson leads the league in rushing with 718 yards.
A big matchup in Eastern Coteau (9 Man) this week will be when Clark/Willow Lake takes on Wilmot. At the moment, the Cyclones are in third, while Larry Hulscher's team is in second.
