Softball Recap: Randolph Takes a Loss

If Randolph was riding high fresh off their 16-2 takedown of Silver Creek on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cardinals fell just short of the Gowanda Panthers by a score of 7-6 on Friday. The Cardinals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 9-8.

Sadie S.Steward made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Arnold-Hill, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Randolph's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-9. As for Gowanda, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Randolph does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Gowanda, they will host Westfield at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolverines have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season.
