The Timothy Christian Trojans's game last Saturday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They managed a 43-39 victory over Illiana Christian. This was payback for Timothy Christian, who suffered a 53-40 loss the last time these two teams met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Timothy Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Marc Gamble, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Alex Keizer was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Illiana Christian lost, one person who can't be blamed is Andy Spoelman. Despite the final result, he scored 18 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. The matchup was Spoelman's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Noah Sons, who scored five points along with five steals.
Timothy Christian's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-7. As for Illiana Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Timothy Christian will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Bishop Moore at 7:30 p.m. on December 27, 2023. Bishop Moore presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Timothy Christian in their respective states (Bishop Moore is ranked 169th in Florida, while Timothy Christian is ranked 373rd in Illinois). Illiana Christian and Clinton Christian will round out the year against one another at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at. Hopefully Clinton Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday.
