Basketball Recap: Highlands Comes Up Short

Highlands and MacArthur squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Highlands had to settle for second. They were dealt a 59-31 loss at the hands of the MacArthur Brahmas. The Owls have struggled against the Brahmas recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Ellie Lee continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for MacArthur, going 5-for-11 en route to 14 points in addition to eight steals and six boards. Lee has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played. Faith Thomas was another key player, putting up ten points and five rebounds.

Highlands' defeat dropped their record down to 18-18. As for MacArthur, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 27-8.

Highlands does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for MacArthur, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 62-50 loss against Pieper on the 14th.
