Recap: Putnam Clippers vs. Hale Ray Noises
On Thursday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Putnam beat Hale Ray 51-45.
Putnam was led to victory by Noah Rudman and Ahmyas Cardona. Rudman dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds, while Cardona scored 26 points. Those 26 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Aysaiah Chavez, who scored no points along with seven assists and three steals.
Putnam's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-4. As for Hale Ray, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Putnam won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lyman Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. Lyman Memorial is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home. Hale Ray won't have much time to rest: their next game is against North Branford at 7:00 p.m. on January 12th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Connecticut (North Branford is ranked 161st, while Hale Ray is ranked 159th).
