Lake Gibson is 10-0 against Lake Region since December of 2014 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Lake Gibson Braves are taking a road trip to face off against the Lake Region Thunder at 8:00 p.m. Lake Gibson's last three matches have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Lake Gibson is headed into Monday's following a draw, the team's first since December 12. They and Lake Minneola finished up on equal footing with a 1-1 draw on Friday.

Meanwhile, Lake Region hadn't done well against Winter Haven recently (they were 0-8-1 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Lake Region came out on top in a nail-biter against Winter Haven, sneaking past 4-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Thunder.

Lake Region is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 36 goals over those nine games. Lake Gibson's draw makes their record 14-4-3 this season.

Lake Gibson was able to grind out a solid win over Lake Region in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lake Gibson since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
