Basketball Recap: Lumpkin County Skates Past Johnson with Ease

Lumpkin County won the last time they faced Johnson and things went their way on Friday too. The Lumpkin County Indians breezed by the Johnson Knights to the tune of 70-31. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 220th, while the Knights are ranked 546th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lumpkin County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for Johnson, they dropped their record down to 1-9 with the defeat, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lumpkin County will challenge Chestatee at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Johnson, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Pickens at 7:30 p.m. Pickens knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten matchups -- so hopefully Johnson likes a good challenge.
