Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Salem

Salem had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Yellville-Summit Panthers with a sharp 17-5 win. The Greyhounds might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Peyton Holder looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March.

At the plate, Kamden Turner was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and two doubles. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Aiden Province was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.

Salem always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .710. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in four consecutive games.

Salem's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Yellville-Summit, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-9.
