The Yorkville Foxes will head out to challenge the Plainfield Central Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Yorkville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.
Yorkville proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by nine) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Bradley-Bourbonnais 3-2.

Isabella Rosauer looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five).
On the hitting side, Kayla Kersting was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Plainfield Central narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past West Aurora 3-1.
Kaylynn Howe spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Maeve Carlton, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Plainfield Central has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-9-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Yorkville, their record now sits at 10-7.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Monday. Yorkville hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Plainfield Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.9 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Everything went Yorkville's way against Plainfield Central in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Yorkville made off with a 13-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Foxes since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
