The Dunmore Bucks are taking a road trip to square off against the Old Forge Blue Devils at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
While Dunmore's victory against Lakeland wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bucks had just enough and edged out the Chiefs 4-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bucks.
Paige Ancherani made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Ancherani was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jaclyn Brown, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Old Forge made easy work of Honesdale on Wednesday and carried off a 7-1 win. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by six runs or more this season.
Like Dunmore, Old Forge also got a great game from a two-way player: Kamryn Notari. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over seven innings pitched. Notari was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, Old Forge got a big performance out of Ariana Davitt, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave Davitt a new career-high. Mia Fox also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Dunmore's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Old Forge, their record now sits at 3-4.
Dunmore suffered a grim 8-0 defeat to Old Forge when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Bucks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
