Volleyball Recap: Orange Panthers vs. J.H. Rose Rampants

Orange was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the J.H. Rose Rampants. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 3-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Orange actually scored more points across those five sets (107-102), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 15-25, 27-25, 20-25, 15-10.

Caroline Bayes went supernova For J.H. Rose., getting 26 digs and two aces. What's more, Bayes posted two assists, the most she's had over her last five contests. Francie Taft was another key player, getting 12 digs and two aces.

Orange's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for J.H. Rose, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orange will head out to square off against Carrboro at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for J.H. Rose, they will venture away from home to face off against Cleveland at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
