Volleyball Recap: Wethersfield Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Wethersfield can now relate to. They fell just short of the ROWVA/Williamsfield Cougars by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The Flying Geese were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cougars earlier this season, when they won 2-1.

ROWVA/Williamsfield found their leader in sophomore Eliza Tucker, who had 19 digs and one assist. Those 19 digs set a new season-high mark for Tucker. Another player making a difference was Ella Rigg, who had ten digs.

With the defeat, Wethersfield broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 30-7. As for ROWVA/Williamsfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 32-6 record this season.
