Basketball Game Preview: Middle Creek Mustangs vs. Cary Imps

The Middle Creek Mustangs will face off against the Cary Imps at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cary took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Middle Creek, who comes in off a win.

Middle Creek is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They enjoyed a cozy 69-54 win over Holly Springs on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Mustangs as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Middle Creek had a senior duo take command as Alysia Pergerson posted 22 points and Sarah Grace Furst had 19 points. Koa Pa'U was another key player, putting up seven points.

Meanwhile, Cary came up short against Green Hope on Monday, falling 46-26. The Imps have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cary's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Middle Creek, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-12.

Middle Creek couldn't quite finish off Cary when the teams last played back in January and fell 45-43. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Cary's Kyndall Brewington, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine boards.
