Baseball Recap: False River Comes Up Short

False River came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Ascension Christian, falling 11-3. The Gators have struggled against Ascension Christian recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.

False River saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Benson Jewell, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

False River's loss dropped their record down to 7-18. As for Ascension Christian, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 15-15.

Coming up, False River will venture away from home to take on Avoyelles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ascension Christian, they will welcome East Iberville at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.43 runs per game on average), something Ascension Christian will no doubt try to take advantage of.
