Baseball Recap: Norwich Tornadoes vs. Walton Warriors
While Norwich put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Walton. The Tornadoes put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 9-0 win.
Carmine Pastore tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 14 over six innings pitched.
At the plate, Norwich let Zack Parker and Zac Turner run wild. Parker got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs, while Turner went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most runs Parker has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Olds, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Norwich kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Norwich's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Walton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Norwich will venture away from home to challenge Owego Free Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The River Hawks will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Tornadoes surely won't give up without a fight. As for Walton, they will head out to square off against Unatego at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
